Extraordinary Canadians was a great project to work on and one I wanted to showcase because of all the custom elements created for this open. Kenneth Hirsch the producer put a lot of trust in me to deliver something on time and budget with limited resources.
This was the untold history of great Canadiens told by equally great modern Canadien writers. The project was not only a documentary series but also a book series. So for me the key jumping off point was paper and ink.
All ink and paper elements were shot in 5K at 96fps. A lot goes into the small details. And while some may say you can get those elements from stock sites, yes you can but the result will look it.
I remember Kenneth saying early on that he wanted some that would feel timeless and not dated in 10 years. That remains to be seen but it's always a good goal to not totally fall into trends and let the project finds its own voice.
